Beautycounter with Stacy

Like many of you, I am a wife and a mother, and like many of you, I didn’t know what I didn’t know.  I have always tried to live a healthy life by exercising, eating well, and encouraging my children to do the same.  But as I applied sunscreen, body lotion, and numerous beauty products on myself and my kiddos every day, I NEVER thought for a second it might not be safe.  After all, I thought we live in a country that regulates everything.  I was shocked to learn that when it comes to the personal care industry, that is not the case. I learned about Beautycounter and their mission from a good friend of mine.  I tried the products and fell in love with the high performing, chic line of products but I also loved knowing that what I was applying to myself and my family was safe.  I also wanted to become a part of Beautycounter’s mission to get safe products into the hands of everyone and to be a megaphone for change here in our country.

Beautycounter is an education first and products 2nd company.  Our goal is to create awareness and educate people on what they don’t know.  The US has not passed a federal law to govern our personal care products since 1938.  Since the law was passed, there have been 10,000 chemicals introduced into society and only 10% of those ingredients have been tested for safety.   These ingredients are in our products that we use every day.  In fact, the EU has banned 1400 ingredients from personal care products while the US has banned 11.   This is completely unacceptable. We deserve better.  In our world today, one in 2 men and one in 3 women will have cancer in their lifetimes.   We’ve also gone from 1 in 20 women developing breast cancer in the 60’s to one in 8 women today.  We know that genetics have not changed so obviously it has something to do with our environment, the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the products that we put onto our body.

Beautycounter has the strictest ingredient selection process in the US and has banned over 1500 ingredients that they will NOT use in their products because they are harmful to our health or linked to serious health issues.  Beautycounter has a never list that includes 30-40 ingredient which you can find on the back of our business cards or can be found on the website.  These ingredient we know are linked to organ toxicity, organ disruption, cancer, alleges and other harmful heath issues etc.  We know we should eliminate these ingredients from our products if we want to improve our health.

Beautycounter’s product line just gets bigger and better all of the time.  Our product line includes 2 skincare lines, a body line, a baby line, a full cosmetic line, sunscreen, kid’s line and now MASCARA.
