Mini Journal: Me and Chiari Day 4

It’s been a bit since I wrote. I had the chance to go to Expo West, which is a huge health food show in California. It was a lot of walking, a lot of eating, and a lot of socializing. I had a great time, but I’m now playing catch up on all the things that were neglected while I was gone.

There were so many great brands there!

  • RX Bar
  • Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream
  • Square Organics
  • Hippeas
  • Stonyfield
  • Kind Bar

There were so many exhibitors….and so many people! About 50,000 of ’em. It was a tad crowded.

I had some major headaches while I was out there, but I don’t know if it was because the sample bags I had were weighted down with food and informational packets, or if it was just being up all night and day. It’s hard for me to sleep when I’m not in my own bed. Do you have that problem? I LOVE to travel, but nothing beats my own bed and pillow!

I am having to start shifting my work focus to things that will be profitable and able to manage once I have the surgery in May. I have several things going on that I think will do well in the long term, but right now I need to pause them in order to focus on recovery. I can’t have several start ups going and have no one that I trust to manage them the way they need to be managed. I will still have Fit-Mommas, Naked Granola, and one other project I am working on. And, of course, my clients who I love and who totally understand the situation.

Still…I feel like a failure to have to say goodbye to anything that I haven’t had a chance to see to it’s full potential. Realistically, it’s the best thing to put these things on hold and see how everything turns out, but it’s still hard to leave something half-way done. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth, and a little hole in your heart.

I guess I can live with that if my brain is functioning better, though. Perspective, right?
